What Are Soft Mounts?

Soft mounts are a style of interactive taxidermy designed to be gently handled, held, and posed. The bodies of my soft mounts are typically constructed in one of three styles: Soft Body, Semi Posable, or Fully Poseable.

Soft Body Mounts These mounts feature movable wired legs and a soft, cushioned internal body. This design allows the mount to maintain a natural, anatomically correct appearance when held or posed, while still feeling soft and comfortable. Carefully placed internal weighting adds a pleasant sense of realism when handling the mount

Semi Posable Mounts These mounts are a hybrid between a soft body and a fully posable. They feature a wired neck and legs, with the body and tail left soft and floppy. These display well and are also great to hold.

Fully Poseable Mounts Fully poseable mounts are built around a durable, hand-wrapped wire armature that functions like a flexible skeleton. This allows the mount to sit, stand, lie down, and be arranged in a wide variety of poses. These mounts make excellent customizable display pieces and are particularly popular for photography and artistic displays. While slightly firmer than soft body mounts, they are still enjoyable to handle and interact with.

Because soft mounts are made from real animal pelts, natural imperfections may be present. Minor blemishes are normal and part of working with natural materials. Any significant flaws will always be clearly noted in the description above. Please note there is a $100 restocking fee that will be withheld from your refund for all mounts.
