Sterling Fox Taxidermy is a small taxidermy business dedicated to the creation of high-quality soft mounts and specialized supplies for fellow artists. Founded in 2021 in northern Colorado by head taxidermist and shop owner Chandra Ahlquist, the shop began as a personal passion project that steadily grew into a professional venture.

Originally a hobbyist, Chandra always dreamed of building a career that combined her love of nature, science, and art. She discovered that taxidermy existed at the intersection of all three disciplines: blending anatomical understanding, artistic expression, and a deep respect for the natural world. Through this discovery, she became deeply involved in the soft mount community and began refining her craft.

As her experience grew, Chandra recognized the need for tools and materials designed specifically for soft mount taxidermists. This inspired her to begin developing her own line of taxidermy products tailored to the unique needs of the craft. Each product is created with practical use, durability, and quality in mind, shaped by firsthand experience in the workshop.

Today, Sterling Fox Taxidermy proudly creates both finished mounts and specialized supplies used by taxidermists and artists around the world. As a small, independent shop, we remain committed to craftsmanship, innovation, and supporting the community of artists who share a passion for bringing their work to life.
